Shoemaker & Haaland was hired to provide structural engineering services for a large alcohol processing facility energy upgrade project. This project consisted of multiple large supports bridges capable of handling several layers of conduits and large cooling water lines. Renovations were made to add several stories to existing buildings requiring the support of large equipment. Shoemaker & Haaland was responsible for the design of the new steel column, beams, braces, and connections in addition to reinforcing the existing building foundations and superstructure. The overall structural design minimized the disturbance of daily plant operations.
